I’m more than honored and excited to announce my first ever exhibition in Taiwan! This has been a long time coming and I feel tremendously blessed to be able to showcase some of my artwork back home. Especially when I get to introduce Dragon Boy whose story is inspired by my personal journey in a foreign land.  Big thanks to VTSS Toys and Wingrow Gallery for having me and Dragon Boy! Artist Info:

Artist Martin Hsu is based in San Francisco, USA and originally from Taiwan. Being in a foreign land for 20+ years has taught and inspired Martin in many ways. It has given him the opportunity to pursue art and built a new life. Most importantly, it has strengthened his self identity, respect for his culture, and love for his family and friends.

After graduating from college with a degree in animation, Martin worked professionally as a character designer for Disney TV Animation and Nickelodeon. He has also worked as an illustrator in children’s publishing and for museum exhibitions.

On top of designing commercially, Martin explores his personal paintings in galleries across the nation. Some of the major exhibitions include Sanrio’s 50th Anniversary, Hello Kitty’s 35th Anniversary, and Disney’s Wonderground Gallery.

Martin is currently developing his own original brands of characters such as Dragon Boy and CRAKENS.  Dragon Boy is especially dear to Martin as it’s inspired by his personal journey as a little boy looking for his roots in a foreign land with his childhood dog, Blacky. Martin is excited to release the Dragon Boy designer vinyl in Taiwan and looks forward to work on future projects with VTSS toys to bring more of his designs from a 2D surface to the 3D world.

Martin is tremendously honored and excited to exhibit his personal work for the first time in Taiwan. He hopes this is only the beginning and can’t wait to have more shows here in the future. He hopes you enjoy the works, have a good time, and keep in touch.
