Army of Inspiration!
Got these great production pictures of the figure. Had the opportunity to design the box. Came out lovely!
“Morning Strolls”, new series of original artwork inspired by Miyazaki-sensei and his friends. Set of 10.
Big thanks to those who emailed firstname.lastname@example.org for the preview!
Had an incredible time catching up with my buddy Jay in Tokyo yesterday about volunteer work in Japan and the slow recovery process in areas which were hit by the tsunami.
As some of you may know, sales from the Miya-san 6″ tribute figure will be donated to *K-M, a community organization founded by local youth and foreigners in the town of Karakuwa in Kesennuma City. K-M’s goal is to rebuild their community with emphasis on involving local kids and adults. By giving tours of the town regularly by volunteers, local resources such as fishing and farming are once again recognized, and so is hope.
My pal Jay’s involvement with K-M is primarily inspired by art. In the last year and a half, he has hosted art camps and community projects to introduce some color back into people’s lives. We are proud to have designed and produced Miya-san for such an inspiring cause. More updates to come as art programs from the proceeds solidify.
Big thanks to everyone who have supported our small effort so far.
A special tribute to a mentor in art and life
